SUMMARY:Magnetic Island Photo Tour
DESCRIPTION:1 Day Photo Tour of Magnetic Island 10th January 2025  Limited to 4 workshop participants $289\n\nIn conjunction with PhotoTours Australia I will be hosting a one-day photography tour of Magnetic Island for a small group of four which offers a perfect mix of scenic landscapes\, wildlife\, and coastal views\, all conveniently explored by car. After a short ferry ride from Townsville\, the group will arrive on the island\, ready to embark on an unforgettable photographic adventure. We will start the day by driving to Horseshoe Bay\, a picturesque spot where calm waters\, anchored sailboats\, and palm-fringed beaches offer a beautiful scene for morning photography. Capture the soft light glistening on the water and the tranquil atmosphere before heading to your next destination.\n\nWe will then stop at Bungalow Bay Koala Village located in the heart of Magnetic Island\, offering visitors a chance to interact with native Australian wildlife in a relaxed\, natural setting. You can get up close and personal with a variety of native animals\, so it’s a must-visit for wildlife photography enthusiasts. Bungalow Bay Koala Village is a perfect stop for learning about Magnetic Island’s unique ecosystem and capturing memorable wildlife photos.\nAfter capturing the wildlife\, we will be stopping at Picnic Bay Hotel to grab a refreshing drink and a bite to eat for lunch\, which will provide a perfect break during your tour.\nPicnic Bay is known for its long\, curved beach and the iconic Picnic Bay Jetty\, which stretches out into the turquoise waters\, offering photographers the chance to capture stunning images of the jetty against the backdrop of the Coral Sea. The beach is a quiet\, peaceful spot\, perfect for a laid-back swim or just relaxing under the shade of palm trees. The jetty\, once the island’s main ferry terminal\, is a fantastic spot for both sunrise and sunset photography\, with reflections dancing on the calm waters.\n\nAfter lunch and and a bit of exploring around the area\, we will head west across the island to West Point\, a hidden gem known for its rugged coastlines and sweeping views of the mainland. The drive through bushland provides opportunities for photographing Magnetic Island’s diverse wildlife\, including rock wallabies and native birds. Upon reaching West Point\, you’ll have plenty of time to photograph its wild\, untouched beauty—perfect for landscape and seascape photography. West Point is particularly famous for its sunset views\, so we will return later in the day to capture the sky’s brilliant colors.\nIn the afternoon\, the tour continues with a drive to the Forts Walk. The hike leads to panoramic viewpoints and historic World War II forts\, where photographers can capture expansive vistas of the island’s rugged coastline. Along the way\, be sure to keep your camera ready for the island’s star attraction—wild koalas resting in the eucalyptus trees. The historical ruins combined with dramatic ocean views offer a unique blend of subjects for your photos.\n\nAs sunset approaches\, we will return to West Point for the grand finale. Here\, the group will be perfectly positioned to photograph one of the island’s most famous sunset views\, with the colors of the sky reflecting off the water and creating a truly magical scene.\nAfterwards\, you will be driven back to the ferry at Nelly Bay\, ending the day with a ferry ride home as the last light fades over the Coral Sea
